Tinubu Arrives Anambra to Inaugurate First-Ever Government House

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on an official visit to commission a series of landmark projects executed by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

Touching down at the Chinua Achebe International Airport around 12:15 p.m., the President was warmly received by Governor Soludo and other top state officials.

A major highlight of the visit is the inauguration of Anambra State’s first-ever Government House — a historic development coming more than three decades after the state’s creation. The ultramodern complex, situated on approximately eight hectares of land, has been described as the biggest and greenest of its kind in Nigeria.

“For 34 years, Anambra has operated from a makeshift structure outside its capital. But today, under Governor Soludo’s leadership, we now have a befitting government house,” said Ifeanyi Okoma, the state’s Commissioner for Works, during an interview on Channels Television.

In addition to the Government House, President Tinubu is expected to inaugurate several other key infrastructural projects across the state.

This marks President Tinubu’s second visit to the South-East region in 2025, following his January trip to Enugu State where he held a town hall meeting and commissioned projects including the Solution Fun City.
