Chief Sunday Adeyemo alias Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba Nation activist, has been liberated following a two-year trial by the Beninese government. He was released from protective custody in the neighboring Republic of Benin.
Sunday Igboho was released a few hours ago, according to Yoruba Nation leader Prof. Banji Akintoye, and he is presently on his way to Germany to be reunited with his family.
Igboho was apprehended by the International Criminal Police Organization on Monday, July 19, 2021, at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, Republic of Benin, on his route to Germany.
He had fled Nigeria after the Department of State Service (DSS) raided his Soka property in Ibadan, Oyo State’s capital, accusing him of stockpiling weaponry.
