The Legislative Council of Shira Local Government in Bauchi State has officially removed Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Beli and his Deputy, Hon. Usman Adamu, from office over allegations of financial mismanagement and lack of cooperation with the council.

Council Leader Wali Adamu, who is set to take over as chairman, announced the decision at the Bauchi State Legislative Council premises while addressing journalists. He emphasized that the removal was necessary to uphold transparency and accountability in the administration of Shira Local Government.

In an official press release, the council explained that a special investigative committee was appointed to probe allegations of gross misconduct, financial mismanagement, failure to perform duties, and abuse of office. The committee’s findings confirmed that both officials were guilty of these allegations, leading to their immediate removal.

“The investigation established that the Chairman and his Deputy engaged in financial mismanagement, failed to perform their duties, breached public trust, and abused their office,” the statement read.

Following their dismissal, the council declared the offices of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman vacant, signaling a leadership transition in Shira Local Government.
