Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has strongly denied bribery and intimidation allegations leveled against him by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, describing them as “completely fictional” and a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image.
In a series of posts shared on Instagram on Friday, Seyi Tinubu refuted the claims made by Isah during a recent press conference, expressing disbelief over what he called a confident display of falsehood.
“Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? Wow wow… an attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah,” he wrote.
In a follow-up post, he firmly stated, “I have never held a meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world. I have never knowingly met him before. Neither did I visit any location with thugs. All these allegations made by Atiku Isah are completely fictional.”
The denial comes after Comrade Isah claimed in a press conference on Wednesday that Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, offered him a N100 million bribe in Lagos to support the Tinubu administration. Isah alleged that he rejected the offer, citing dissatisfaction with the president’s performance.
Isah further claimed that he was abducted on April 15, stripped naked, and beaten—allegedly in collaboration with the Managing Director of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). He said he was coerced into releasing a statement under duress, warning that the perpetrators threatened to leak a video of the incident and even suggested that his life could be taken without consequence.
According to Isah, the threats included a claim that any fallout would be covered up at the behest of powerful individuals, including Seyi Tinubu.
Despite the alleged intimidation, Isah vowed to continue speaking out. “Even if I am shot, I will still come to this hall… Seyi Tinubu can do anything he wants, but we are determined,” he declared.
As the controversy unfolds, neither the Minister of Youth Development nor the NTA has publicly responded to the allegations.
