Taraba South Senator, David Jimkuta (APC), has expressed disappointment over the denial of landing permission for 19 senators at Kashimbilla Airport, Taraba State.

Speaking at his Senatorial Empowerment Programme in Wukari, Jimkuta revealed that the lawmakers were scheduled to join him for the event but were informed that the airport had been temporarily closed despite completing all necessary flight procedures.

Jimkuta, who chairs the Senate Committee on FCT Area Councils, noted that the visit was intended to assess the region’s needs and explore ways to provide legislative support. He lamented that the unexpected restriction had hindered their mission.

During the empowerment programme, the senator urged beneficiaries to utilize the distributed items for personal and economic development rather than selling them. He also pledged logistical support to security agencies to enhance safety in the district.

Chairman of the event, Chief David Kente, praised Jimkuta’s initiative, describing it as unprecedented in the district’s history.

Items distributed at the event included cars, motorcycles, tricycles, sewing machines, deep freezers, and vulcanizing machines, among others.
