Saudi Arabia Confirms Ramadan Crescent Sighting, Fasting Begins Saturday

Saudi Arabia has officially announced the sighting of the Ramadan crescent, marking the beginning of the holy month on Saturday, March 1.

The announcement aligns with confirmations from other countries, including Qatar and Oman, which have also declared Saturday as the commencement of Ramadan 1446 AH.

Meanwhile, in Nigeria, the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, had on Thursday urged Muslims to look for the Ramadan crescent. However, as of press time, an official update from the Sultan is still awaited.

Muslims worldwide prepare to observe the sacred month with fasting, prayers, and spiritual reflection.
