Saudi Arabia has strongly criticized Israel’s decision to suspend humanitarian aid deliveries into Gaza, calling it an act of “blackmail” and a violation of international law.
The condemnation followed Israel’s move on Sunday to halt all goods and supplies into the war-torn enclave after Hamas rejected a US-backed ceasefire proposal for Ramadan and Passover. The suspension comes as efforts to extend a fragile truce between Israel and Hamas have stalled.
In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency, the kingdom’s foreign ministry condemned Israel’s action as “a tool of blackmail and collective punishment,” urging the international community to intervene and halt what it described as “serious Israeli violations.”
Meanwhile, Hamas warned that Israel’s decision to block aid shipments would further escalate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
