The amount of N44.8 million has been authorized by the Lagos state government, headed by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the vegetable clearance project within the Epe Mixed Development Scheme.
The Lagos State New Towns Development Authority awarded the project to M/S Obak Nigeria Enterprises in May, according to documents from the state’s Public Procurement Agency (PPA).
Governor Sanwo-Olu faced criticism for approving N7.5 million to replace the liquid fragrance in his office and N3 billion to buy rechargeable fans for his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat’s office, according to prior reports.
Daily Trust claims that additional investigation showed that the state government had approved some dubious expenditures. According to the document, N73.1 million was authorized for the creation of President Bola Tinubu’s and State Governor Sanwo-Olu’s official pictures.
Flolizvi Connect was given the project, which was carried out by the Chief of Staff’s office.
After beating his primary opponents, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, or NNPP, Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos state, was sworn in as president on May 29.
Less than 150 MDAs are located in Lagos, based on information that is currently available on the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget’s website.
On June 19, the Chief of Staff’s office was also granted authority to spend N80.8 million to buy ten secondhand foreign cars. A N440.75 million purchase of a brand-new Lexus LX 600 Bulletproof Sport Utility Vehicle was approved by the same office.
Additionally, the agency received N18.5 million for the procurement and distribution of 2,000 Noiler chicks throughout the state’s wards and local government areas.
The principal residence of the Oba of Lagos, Iduganran Palace, will have its water supply restored thanks to N152 million government approval. Documents also revealed that the state had sanctioned N581 million for the restoration of the Oke-Popo region’s Saint Andrews Anglican Church.
