President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation has stated that the government will freely supply African countries with 25,000 to 50,000 tonnes of grains in four months to mitigate the impact of food insecurity in these zones while working toward food sovereignty.
He stated this in his opening remarks at the ongoing second Russia-Africa Summit 2023 in St Petersburg, Russia, which is attended by African leaders, specialists, and journalists.
The grains, according to the president, will be freely delivered to the African countries of Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Somalia, and Eritrea.
