The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has officially summoned suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Dr. Ngozi Ordu, to appear before him at the Government House in Port Harcourt over a probe into political appointments made during their administration.

The directive was contained in a special announcement issued on Tuesday and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika.

According to the statement, the summons is part of an official inquiry into decisions taken under the Fubara-led administration over the past two years, with a focus on appointments and recruitment processes.

“Sir Fubara is directed to present all relevant documents and records pertaining to appointments, including justifications and procedures followed during his tenure,” the statement read.

The session is also expected to provide the suspended governor with an opportunity to explain why he believes he should be reinstated to office.

Details of the scheduled appearance are as follows:

Date: Friday, 18th April, 2025

Time: 10:00 a.m. prompt

Venue: Conference Room, Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt

Prof. Worika emphasized that attendance is mandatory for both Fubara and Ordu, as the inquiry forms part of the Sole Administrator’s efforts to restore transparency, accountability, and lasting peace in the governance of the state.

The latest development adds another chapter to the ongoing political drama in Rivers, as stakeholders and observers closely monitor the evolving situation.
