The Rivers State Assembly, led by Martin Amaewhule, has suspended all expenditures by Governor Siminalayi Fubara until he re-presents his budget to the House. The Assembly has given the Governor a seven-day ultimatum to submit the overdue budget.

Upon consideration, the Assembly resolved to close the Rivers State Consolidated Revenue Account, effectively prohibiting any further spending by Governor Fubara’s administration.
