President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was visited today in his Presidential Villa at Asokoro, Abuja, by Bill Gates, co-chair at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation who was accompanied by Aliko Dangote, CEO of Dangote Group.
The meeting was held behind closed doors and the reason for it was revealed by Dangote in a brief commentary with the press. According to him, “The visit was to provide Mr. President with an update on the efforts of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation towards enhancing the healthcare sector in Nigeria.”
The Gates Foundation is reportedly committed to collaborating closely with communities and leaders to encourage innovation. The visit to President Tinubu here in Nigeria is a part of that commitment.
In numerous humanitarian initiatives around the world, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has taken an active role and will continue to do so. Today’s visit is no different from what has been happening in numerous parts of the world where the Foundation is helping lives.
