President Bola Ahmed Tinubu returned to Abuja on Wednesday night after a two-week official visit to Europe, where he engaged in high-level discussions on regional security and economic development.

The President’s aircraft touched down at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at exactly 9:50 p.m. He was warmly received by top government officials, including Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu, and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Tinubu, who departed Nigeria on April 2, spent the duration of his trip in Paris, France, where he remained actively engaged in key national affairs. From abroad, he issued strategic directives to security chiefs amid emerging security challenges back home, reaffirming his commitment to national stability.

While in Paris, President Tinubu held a significant meeting with Mr. Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor for Africa at the United States Department of State. Their discussions centered on strengthening Nigeria-U.S. bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of regional security, economic cooperation, and sustainable development across Africa.

The leaders also addressed the ongoing crisis in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), exploring multilateral strategies for peacebuilding and enhanced collaboration with regional stakeholders.

The meeting reinforced Nigeria’s continued commitment to international diplomacy and its role as a key player in promoting stability and development on the African continent.
