President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned Nigerian entrepreneur and trailblazer, Pascal Dozie, describing his passing as a significant loss to the nation’s private sector.
Dozie, the founder of the defunct Diamond Bank and pioneer Chairman of MTN Nigeria, died in the early hours of Tuesday at the age of 85.
In a statement released by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu paid glowing tribute to the late business titan, hailing him as “a rare breed business leader whose wisdom, humility, and pioneering efforts laid a foundation upon which many continue to build.”
The President emphasized that Dozie’s contributions to Nigeria’s financial and telecommunications sectors were instrumental in shaping the modern business landscape of the country.
“His passing is a profound loss to the private sector and Nigeria,” Tinubu said.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of Dozie’s soul and extended heartfelt condolences to his wife, children, and the entire Dozie family.
