Azeez Adeshina Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, was detained by the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force in connection with the passing of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as MohBad.
Remember how Mohbad passed away a few weeks ago inexplicably? Naira Marley, who had recently returned to Nigeria, has been detained, according to a statement on Tuesday night from Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos Police command.
Late on Tuesday, Hundeyin posted on his X (old Twitter) account, “Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities.”
We know that Naira Marley would support the police in their inquiry into the death of MohBad, which has drawn conflicting responses on and off social media.
Prior to the police statement, Naira Marley had already sworn to clear his name and declared his coming in Nigeria to assist the investigation into the passing of his former signee.
“I want to let you know that I’ve recently returned to Lagos, Nigeria, to help the law enforcement with their continuing investigation. I must contribute in some way to help Imole. I’ll be speaking with the police in the hopes that the truth will come to light and that justice will be served,” the musician earlier stated.
