Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently holding a crucial meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to deliberate on key national developments affecting the party and the nation at large.

The meeting, which is taking place at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office, Agodi Secretariat, is being hosted by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

Among the governors in attendance are Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Umaru Fintiri (Adamawa), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), and Douye Diri (Bayelsa).

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno were represented by their deputies.

Conspicuously absent from the high-level gathering is Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, whose absence has raised eyebrows amid growing internal dynamics within the party.

While the agenda of the meeting has not been officially disclosed, sources close to the gathering hinted that discussions are centered around the current state of the nation, economic challenges, internal party affairs, and strategic plans ahead of the next general elections.

The outcome of the meeting is expected to shape the PDP’s direction on several national issues and reinforce the party’s position as the leading opposition force in Nigeria.
