In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Haliru Andi, the PDP extended heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.

“Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of the victims, whose lives were abruptly taken in this unfortunate incident. This is a devastating loss, and we stand in solidarity with all those affected by this tragedy,” the statement read.

The PDP acknowledged the ongoing efforts of the Nigerian military in combating banditry in the region, recognizing the risks involved in such operations. However, the party emphasized that protecting innocent citizens and restoring peace to the communities must remain the top priority.

“While we acknowledge the inherent risks of such operations, the protection of innocent citizens and the restoration of peace to our communities must remain the foremost priority. We are confident that the military, with the support of Governor Dauda Lawal, will continue to work diligently to secure the safety and well-being of the people of Zamfara State and beyond,” the statement continued.

The party also conveyed its condolences to the Government of Zamfara State, the Maradun Emirate, and all affected communities, sharing in the collective grief of the loss.

“We understand the pain and grief that comes with such a tragic event, and we assure you that our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn this great loss,” the PDP said.

In closing, the PDP reiterated its commitment to supporting the restoration of peace and stability in the state, urging authorities to implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

“We remain steadfast in our support for the restoration of peace and stability in the state. The lives of innocent civilians must be safeguarded at all costs, and we urge the relevant authorities to take necessary steps to ensure such tragedies do not occur again,” the statement concluded.

The PDP remains hopeful that peace will eventually return to Zamfara and its communities.
