Panic as fire razes shops at Apongbon market (VIDEO)

An early Wednesday morning fire outbreak at Apongbon market has caused panic among road users and motorists around the area.

Many shops which were majorly constructed with planks were destroyed in the fire.

Vehicles parked under the bridge were also reportedly razed by the inferno which enveloped a large section of the bridge.

The fire outbreak led to a gridlock on the Eko and Carter Bridge.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) announced via a tweet that the fire outbreak has resulted to slow movement of motorists.

“Motorists who are yet to connect Eko Bridge are advised to use alternative routes such as Third-Mainland Bridge and Carter Bridge.

“Emergency Responding Agencies like Fire Service, LASEMA, LASTMA are all on ground.”
