Napoli record signing Victor Osimhen has recovered from COVID-19, the Italian giants announced on Friday, January 22, 2021.
In a statement posted on the club’s Twitter handle, the Nigeria international that tested positive after two swabs were taken, underwent another check and the test result returned negative.
The young striker tested positive for COVID-19 on January 1, on his return to Naples, after spending time in Nigeria, where he attended a birthday party and breached COVID-19 protocols.
However, after 21 days in isolation, Napoli announced that the former Lille striker has tested negative.
“@victorosimhen9 recovered from COVID-19,” Napoli wrote on their Twitter handle.
Osimhen missed Napoli’s 2-0 Super Coppa defeat to Juventus on Wednesday but will be hoping to be available for selection when they take on Verona in their Serie A game at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi on Sunday.
