Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has unveiled a N655.23 billion budget proposal for the 2025 fiscal year, marking an increase of N193 billion from the N492.05 billion allocated in 2024.
The budget, christened the Budget of Recovery, prioritizes capital expenditure with 62% (N406.3 billion) allocated, while 38% (N248.9 billion) is set aside for recurrent expenses. Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted the administration’s plans to upgrade healthcare facilities with N7 billion, invest N370 million in free school shuttle services, and support smallholder farmers to boost agricultural productivity.
The governor also announced an ambitious infrastructure overhaul under the Road Restore initiative, aimed at rehabilitating roads and installing solar-powered streetlights across the state. In education, the government plans to establish three model secondary schools in 2025 to foster entrepreneurship and innovation among students.
Governor Aiyedatiwa assured that ongoing projects would not be abandoned, with adequate funding allocated for their completion, signaling a strong commitment to socio-economic transformation in Ondo State.
