Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared Monday a public holiday to mark his official inauguration, allowing residents to fully participate in the ceremony and related activities.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the governor announced that the swearing-in ceremony for himself and Deputy Governor-designate, Olayide Adelami, will take place at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.

The week-long inauguration activities kicked off on Friday with a Jumat service at Akure Central Mosque, followed by a Church Thanksgiving service scheduled for Sunday at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Jesus House, Oke-Ijebu, Akure.

The swearing-in on Monday will be followed by a gala night and a book presentation at the International Centre for Culture & Events (The Dome), Akure.

In preparation for the celebrations, Governor Aiyedatiwa has also lifted the restriction of movement for Saturday’s monthly environmental sanitation exercise, though residents are still encouraged to clean their surroundings.
