Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has pledged to deliver 2.5 million votes to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, citing visible progress and development in the state under the current administration.
Speaking on Monday at the Okaijesan Town Hall in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area, the governor made the declaration while receiving thousands of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“In 2027, we will reward President Tinubu’s love for Edo with 2.5 million votes,” Okpebholo declared to a cheering crowd of supporters. “The people have spoken through their actions.”
He commended President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a driving force behind Edo’s ongoing transformation and the state’s renewed faith in the APC.
“Edo is APC, and APC is the vehicle of our development under the Renewed Hope Agenda. I will not fail you,” he assured the gathering.
The mass defection marks a significant boost for the ruling party ahead of the next general elections, further strengthening the APC’s position in the state.
