Edo State Governor, Mr. Monday Okpebholo, has officially inaugurated the Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, with a strong call to restore the institution’s former prestige.
The governor, speaking at the New Festival Hall of the Government House in Benin, emphasized that education is fundamental to development, underscoring AAU’s pivotal role in contributing to this goal.
Accompanied by his deputy, Mr. Dennis Idahosa, and senior government officials, Okpebholo urged the newly inaugurated council members to approach their responsibilities with dedication, vision, and a deep sense of accountability. He called on them to collaborate in revitalizing the university’s reputation as a center of academic excellence.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Chief Dan Orbih, who also serves as the national vice chairman for the South-South region of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed his gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve and reaffirmed the council’s commitment to the university’s restoration.
