Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, and Iwajowa Federal Constituency of Oyo State have unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Tuesday during a high-level meeting held at Ado Awaye in Iseyin Local Government Area, presided over by former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Iyiola Oladokun.
The party leaders lauded President Tinubu for the recent establishment of the Federal University in Okeho, describing it as a historic move and the first federal institution in the entire Oke Ogun region, which comprises ten local government areas.
“We are grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the university. It is the first of its kind in Oke Ogun, a region long neglected by successive administrations,” the leaders said. “His commitment to balanced national development is why we are endorsing him for a second term. He has remembered Oke Ogun, and we believe he will do even more.”
The stakeholders also applauded the roles played by Professor Segun Gbadegesin, Senator Fatai Buhari, and Barrister Ahmed Raji in facilitating the university’s approval.
Listing the President’s achievements in less than two years, the APC leaders cited his efforts to stabilise the naira, improve the economy, increase federal allocations to states and local governments, and combat insecurity, including insurgency, kidnappings, and farmer-herder conflicts.
They called on those sabotaging national peace and security to reconsider their actions in the interest of Nigeria’s unity and development.
In addition, the leaders noted the growing wave of defections from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in Oke Ogun as further proof of the President’s rising popularity in the region.
They pledged to expand their campaign for Tinubu’s re-election at a larger APC stakeholders’ meeting scheduled to hold in Igboho on June 30. The event, also to be chaired by Chief Iyiola Oladokun, will bring together party chairmen, secretaries, youth and women leaders, current and former lawmakers, commissioners, board chairmen, and other political figures from all ten local government areas in Oke Ogun.
