The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Nze Ozichukwu Fidelis Chukwu, has declared that the Nigerian government lacks valid grounds for the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a statement released by Ohanaeze spokesman Alex Ogbonnia, Chukwu stressed that “the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a moral burden on the federal government,” and there are no sufficient reasons for his prolonged incarceration.

Chukwu also assured the National Executive Committee (NEC) of Ohanaeze that a strategic blueprint will be developed to strengthen the organisation’s role and address emerging challenges. Despite his tenure nearing its end, Chukwu is committed to leaving a lasting and impactful legacy.
