The Ogun State Government has announced that tolling operations on the Epe-Mojoda-Ijebu-Ode Expressway will commence on Monday, March 24, 2025.
The Director-General of the Office of Public-Private Partnerships, Dapo Oduwole, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, emphasizing that the tolls are necessary for sustainable road maintenance, efficient operations, and enhanced road safety.
The 14.7km expressway, which was previously in poor condition, was reconstructed under the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun, who prioritized it as a key economic corridor linking Lagos and Ogun State.
Oduwole noted that while the government had initially delayed tolling for nearly four years to ease the burden on residents, it is now essential to balance public interest with investors’ economic considerations.
He also assured that the expressway has been equipped with modern amenities to ensure a smooth commute and will rank among the best roads in the country.
However, some vehicles will be exempt from toll payments, including:
Emergency response vehicles (ambulances, fire trucks, and patrol vehicles)
Government security vehicles
Ogun State Government official vehicles
Oduwole urged commuters to comply with the new tolling regulations, warning that strict enforcement measures will be in place.
