The legislative approval, which saw adjustments to the proposed allocations of several agencies, marks a significant step toward implementing the state’s development plan for the coming year.

During the plenary session held at the assembly complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Tuesday, the passage of the bill followed the presentation of a detailed report by the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Musefiu Lamidi. The motion for adoption was seconded by his deputy, Wahab Haruna, and unanimously supported by the lawmakers.

In a clause-by-clause review conducted before the Committee of the Whole, the lawmakers scrutinized and adjusted the recurrent expenditures of 21 agencies, capital expenditures of five agencies, and revenue targets of two agencies. Majority Leader Yusuf Sheriff moved the motion for the third reading, seconded by Minority Leader Lukman Adeleye, and endorsed by a unanimous voice vote. The Clerk of the House, Sakiru Adebakin, read the bill for the third time before its adoption.

Speaker Oludaisi Elemide directed that the clean copy of the bill be forwarded to Governor Abiodun for assent.
