Former President Olusegun Obasanjo hosted an exclusive gathering of high-profile political figures and traditional leaders at The Delborough Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, ahead of his 88th birthday celebration.
Among the distinguished guests were former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Sierra Leonean President Ernest Bai Koroma, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki, who was accompanied by his wife, Toyin. Also in attendance was the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
Atiku, who served as vice president under Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007, shared details of the event on his X handle, stating, “I joined others at the dinner hosted by my former boss, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, at The Delborough Hotel, Victoria Island, in Lagos.”
Similarly, Saraki took to social media to highlight the significance of the occasion, describing it as a tribute to Obasanjo’s enduring legacy. “Toyin and I have just arrived at The Delborough in Lagos for a dinner celebrating His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, our dear former President and Founder of the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation,” he posted.
The dinner served as a prelude to Obasanjo’s official birthday celebration, scheduled for Wednesday.
