The North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has thrown its full support behind President Bola Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election, citing his administration’s positive impact on the region and the nation at large.

In a statement issued after their meeting in Abuja on Sunday, the Forum highlighted the numerous opportunities and developmental strides that the North-Central has enjoyed under President Tinubu’s leadership. The statement, signed by the Chairman of the North-Central APC Forum, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, emphasized the unprecedented infrastructural projects, appointments, and improved security that the region has witnessed since Tinubu assumed office in 2023.

The Forum noted that the North-Central zone has benefited immensely, particularly in terms of security, with the region now seeing less violence and farmers able to return to their farms. The group also commended the President’s economic policies, which have led to a stronger Naira, increased oil production, and improved foreign reserves.

In contrast to opposition voices from groups like the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), who have expressed reservations about Tinubu’s re-election, the North-Central APC Forum underscored their unwavering support. The Forum also expressed confidence in the positive long-term effects of Tinubu’s economic and security policies, urging Nigerians to back his re-election bid.

“The bold leadership of President Tinubu has brought significant progress to our region, and we believe he is the right person to continue leading Nigeria towards greater prosperity,” the statement read.

The endorsement comes amidst a wave of defections in the region, including two Labour Party members of the House of Representatives from Plateau State, signaling growing support for the President in the North-Central. The APC Forum has promised to continue its work to secure Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
