NNPP Leader Ringim Blasts APC Over Economic Hardship

The leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and its 2023 gubernatorial candidate in Jigawa State, Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, has criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he described as the worsening economic and social conditions across the state and the country.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting in Hadejia, Jigawa State, Ringim expressed concern over the increasing hardship faced by citizens, stating that Nigerians have endured significant suffering under the APC-led administration.

He specifically took issue with the recently launched citizens’ engagement programme by the Jigawa State Government, arguing that the initiative fails to offer an effective platform for ordinary citizens to express their grievances.

“A common man should be allowed to speak his mind, even if it is against the government’s interest,” Ringim stated.

The opposition leader lamented the escalating economic challenges, warning that many Nigerians have been pushed into poverty and forced to rely on begging to survive.

He urged both the state and federal governments to implement urgent measures to alleviate the suffering of the populace, highlighting the importance of prioritising key sectors such as education, healthcare, job creation, and agriculture.

“The government must prioritise education, healthcare, job creation, and agricultural development. Every policy and programme should be designed to uplift the common man, with a serious commitment to effective implementation. If these sectors are improved, poverty will decrease, and so will crime, including theft, armed robbery, and kidnapping,” Ringim said.

Ringim reaffirmed the NNPP’s commitment to serving as a constructive opposition, holding the government accountable and advocating for policies that would improve the quality of life for the citizens.

He called on voters to reflect on their experiences under the current administration and to make informed choices in future elections.

“It is the duty of the opposition to demand better policies and ensure that the voices of the people are heard. We will continue to stand with the people and work towards a better future for our state and country,” he concluded.

The stakeholders’ meeting was attended by party leaders, members, and supporters who echoed concerns about the prevailing economic difficulties and pledged their support for policies that would foster growth and development across Jigawa State.
