Under the agreement, the NGML-NIPCO Unincorporated Joint Venture (UJV) will supply 80 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) of natural gas per day for a period of 20 years to the Ssonic plant, located at the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos.

Announcing the deal in Abuja, NNPC Ltd.’s spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, emphasized that the agreement aligns with the company’s commitment to boosting domestic gas utilization and driving industrial and economic growth.

He further highlighted that the initiative supports Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy, promoting natural gas as a cost-effective and environmentally friendly fuel to mitigate global warming.
