The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), on Monday, announced the demise of another former Group Managing Director, Dr Joseph Thlama Dawha barely three months after the death of Dr Maikanti Baru, who was also an ex-GMD of the corporation at a time.
Joseph Dawha was a one-time Group Managing Director (GMD) of the NNPC between August 2014 to August 2015 and the 16th GMD of the Corporation.
The current GMD of the state-run oil company, Mele Kyari who expressed shock over the sudden death of Dawha, broke the news via his Twitter handle late Monday evening, August 3, 2020.
According to a statement by the NNPC spokesperson, Dr Kennie Obateru, it stated that Dawha died after a brief illness.
Kyari said the NNPC is gravely mourning the death of the former GMD, who he noted, provided astute leadership and made intense contributions to the progress of the corporation.
He further described Dawha’s death as a great loss to Nigeria as a whole.
