The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced the successful upgrade of its Diaspora National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment portal, promising Nigerians abroad a faster, more secure, and efficient service.
In a statement issued on Monday by its spokesperson, Kayode Adegoke, the commission said the upgraded platform is designed to deliver seamless NIN services to Nigerians in the Diaspora while enhancing data security and overall efficiency.
“To ensure effective service delivery and smooth management of NIN enrolment in the Diaspora, the National Identity Management Commission has successfully upgraded its diaspora enrolment platform,” the statement read.
According to NIMC, the new system has been deployed to all Diaspora Front-End Partners (FEPs), who have also undergone intensive training to ensure smooth adoption and management of the upgraded technology. All FEPs are required to obtain and activate their NIN enrolment licences on the new platform within 48 hours, after which diaspora applicants can access services from fully compliant partners.
The commission apologised for any inconvenience caused during the upgrade and confirmed that a dedicated service team is now in place to assist applicants facing any challenges with the new system.
NIMC also reiterated that NIN enrolment is ongoing across all its centres in Nigeria, and applicants can find the nearest enrolment location via its official website.
Additionally, the commission urged NIN holders to download the NIMC NINAuth App from the iOS or Google Play Store to verify their NINs instantly, control access to their personal data, and enjoy smoother verification and authentication services.
