Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has paid private visits to former military Heads of State, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd.) and General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd.), in Minna, Niger State.
During the visits, Senator Tinubu reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to fostering economic growth, national development, and stability. She also expressed appreciation to the former leaders for their statesmanship and advisory roles, particularly during the 2023 presidential election.
Although describing her visit as private, the First Lady took the opportunity to acknowledge the former leaders’ efforts in helping Nigerians understand the significance of fuel subsidy removal, a key policy decision undertaken by the current administration.
Accompanying the First Lady were the wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima, and other top government officials.
In response, General Abubakar expressed his gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at national development.
