Nigeria Police Launch Manhunt for Activist Omoyele Sowore Over Viral Video

The Nigeria Police Force has reportedly initiated a search for popular activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, following the circulation of a viral video clip shared on his social media platforms.

Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), shared a video of an encounter with police officers on the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Access Road in Lagos. The video, which has since garnered significant attention online, shows the activist addressing the officers, accusing them of causing unnecessary traffic congestion in the area.

In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday night, Sowore alleged that the police are actively seeking his arrest. He, however, expressed his willingness to cooperate, stating that he is currently in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and available to meet with the authorities.

“I have been informed that the Nigeria Police Force is searching for me. I am currently in Abuja and available at their convenience. It appears that the new year is about to start on a positive note! #RevolutionNow,” the post read.

The development has sparked public interest and discussions across social media platforms, with many awaiting further updates on the situation.
