Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed viral WhatsApp messages alleging the presence of 79 terrorists in the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, calling the claim “entirely untrue.”

In an official statement, Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, assured the public that intelligence gathered by security agencies found no evidence supporting the circulated claims. He emphasized that the viral message, purportedly signed by him, is a fabrication.

“Citizens should disregard news and information not originating from authentic police sources and should not panic due to unverified news circulating on social media,” Adejobi stated.

He urged Nigerians to exercise caution when sharing security-related alerts, stressing the importance of verifying such information with official sources before dissemination.

Reaffirming the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to national security, Adejobi encouraged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the designated emergency contact lines.
