Nigeria can’t afford fresh strike, Gbajabiamila tells ASUU, ministers

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has stated that Nigeria cannot afford another strike by university lecturers.

Gbajabiamila stated this at the commencement of a roundtable called by the House to prevent the planned strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

According to the Speaker, the issues between the Federal Government and ASUU has become perennial.

At the meeting are the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; Minister of State for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba; Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba; President of ASUU, Prof Victor Osodeke as well as other relevant stakeholders.
