The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), conducted nationwide between May 12 and May 23.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, NECO revealed that a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which covered 12 subjects.
While the statement did not disclose the overall performance statistics of the candidates, it confirmed that the release of the results followed the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting, held at NECO headquarters in Minna.
Chairperson of the Award Committee, Dr. Folake Olatunji-David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, commended the conduct of the examination and the integrity of the result processing. The meeting was also attended by secondary school principals from across the country alongside NECO management.
In addition, NECO announced that the 2025 BECE re-sit examination has been scheduled for July 23 and 24. The re-sit will cover two core subjects—Mathematics and English Studies.
Candidates and stakeholders are advised to visit the official NECO website for result checking and additional updates.
