Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Prime Boy, has been proclaimed wanted by the Lagos State Police Command for declining an offer to participate in the investigation into the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, nicknamed Mohbad.

Until his death, Prime Boy was Mohbad’s childhood friend.

The police command declared Prime Boy wanted and slapped a N1m bounty on him in a statement issued by its spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Wednesday.

Prime Boy, according to Hundeyin, is a “male, approximately 1.64-m tall, complexioned with tribal marks and Yoruba by tribe.”

“If seen, contact the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727,” a police spokeswoman stated. CP Idowu Owohunwa hereby offers a N1,000,000 reward to anyone who provides relevant information leading to his arrest.”

A Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba granted the police an order on Wednesday to hold controversial artist Azeez Fashola, commonly known as Naira Marley, in their custody for 21 days.

Naira Marley and his friends allegedly intimidated the late Mohbad after he decided to leave the latter’s Marlian record company.

In the same vein, the court ordered the police to detain Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, commonly known as Sam Larry; a nurse accused of injecting the late artist, Fisayo Ogedengbe; and another guy, Sadiq Ayobami, who claimed to be a friend of the late singer.

The court ordered that the four defendants be held in the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti for 21 days pending the conclusion of the police investigation.

Naira Marley brought himself to the police on Tuesday and was jailed.

Although the police requested that Naira Marley and the three other suspects be remanded in custody for 30 days, Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun permitted the police 21 days to conclude their investigation.

Olatunbosun also allowed the defendants to consult with doctors and lawyers of their choice.

The case was postponed until October 25 to await the results of the police investigation.

Meanwhile, at a plenary session on Wednesday, the House of Representatives assured the late Mohbad’s family of its commitment to secure proper compensation and royalties from his musical works.

This was said by the Chairman of the House Committee on Justice, Olumide Osoba, who represents the Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi-Owode Federal Constituency of Ogun State, during an interactive session on Mohbad’s rights and royalties.

The resolution came after Babajimi Benson, the congressman for Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State, presented a motion of urgent public interest.

Benson continued, “It is crucial to recognize that young musicians are often not well-informed about their rights when entering into contracts.”
