The Minister of State for Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, has donated 3,000 rams to All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters across Zamfara State to support the celebration of the upcoming Sallah festivities.
The symbolic distribution took place on Thursday in Gusau, the state capital, with the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani, overseeing the exercise on behalf of the minister.
Danfulani announced that 100 rams were allocated to each of the 14 local government APC offices, totaling 1,400 rams, which are intended for distribution among party officials at the local government, ward, and polling unit levels.
The remaining 1,600 rams, he said, were earmarked for women, youths, senior citizens, and other vulnerable individuals across the state, in a bid to alleviate economic hardship and promote inclusive celebration during the Eid season.
The chairman praised Matawalle for his generosity, describing the gesture as timely and impactful, especially in light of the current economic challenges facing many citizens.
He also acknowledged other prominent APC leaders in Zamfara, including Senator Abdulaziz Yari and former Governor Muktar Idris, for their ongoing support to party members.
Danfulani further called on the people of Zamfara to continue supporting federal efforts to tackle insecurity in the region. He urged residents to assist security agencies by providing credible intelligence on criminal elements and their hideouts to strengthen the fight against banditry and other forms of criminality in the state.
