Makinde Urges PDP Members: “Don’t Abandon the House Over a Leaking Roof”

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and allied political figures to remain steadfast and united in the face of internal party challenges.

Speaking at the conclusion of the PDP South-West Zonal Caucus meeting held in Ibadan on Friday, the governor likened the current hurdles within the party to a leaking roof in a house, stressing that it is no justification for abandonment.

“You can’t abandon your house because of a leaking roof,” Makinde said. “The PDP is built on solid foundations, and like any structure, it may experience wear and tear. It is our responsibility as party members to fix the leaks, reinforce the foundation, and ensure the house remains standing for the people of this country.”

Governor Makinde emphasized the importance of collective effort in strengthening the party and addressing internal issues, rather than walking away due to temporary setbacks.

He also commended the dedication and sacrifices of party leaders and grassroots members, pledging to continue working with stakeholders to ensure the PDP’s success in upcoming elections.

“Let us fix the roof together and keep this house strong for the future,” he concluded.
