The naval headquarters in Abuja disclosed in a statement on Thursday June 29, 2023, signed by the Director of Information, Nigerian Navy, Commodore Adetotun Ayo-Vaughan that it has reshuffled top officers comprising 58 rear admirals and commodore.
Details of the new appointments show that:
1. Rear Admiral Olusanya Bankole formerly the Director of Logistics, Defence Space Administration, is now appointed Chief of Communications and Information Technology, at Naval Headquarters.
2. Rear Admiral Alexander Bingel formerly Director of Combat Policy and Tactics is now the Director of Logistics, at Defence Headquarters.
3. Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu, formerly Director of Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate, Naval Headquarters is now the Chief of Defence Civil Military Cooperation, Defence Headquarters.
4. Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezete formerly Director of Project Monitoring, Defence Headquarters resumes as the Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters.
5. Rear Admiral Livingstone Izu, who was the Director Manning at Naval Headquarters is the new Chief of Logistics, Naval Headquarters.
6. Rear Admiral Musa Madugu formerly Deputy Director of Special Operation Forces at the Defence Headquarters has been appointed as the Admiral Superintendent of the Naval Ordinance Depot.
7. Rear Admiral Daupreye Matthew, the erstwhile Director of Innovation and Concept Development, at Naval Headquarters is now the Director of Training, at Defence Headquarters.
8. Rear Admiral Zakariya Muhammad, the former Director of Training, at Naval Headquarters has been reappointed as Chief of Training and Operations.
9. Rear Admiral Emmanuel Nmoyem has been reappointed as Director of Human Rights Desks at the Defence Headquarters.
10. Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shettima formerly Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command moves to Defence Headquarters as Director of Plans.
11. The former Director of Plans, Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Monday Unurhiere has been appointed the Chief of Defence Administration at the Defence Headquarters.
12. Rear Admiral Hamza Kaoje who was the Director of Equipment Standardisation and Harmonisation, at Defence Headquarters has been appointed Group Managing Director, Navy Holdings Limited.
13. Rear Admiral Sulaiman El-ladan, who was the Chief of Naval Engineering, at Naval Headquarters is now at the Defence Research and Development Bureau at Defence Headquarters as the Director of Marine Research.
14. Rear Admiral Idi Abbas formerly Director of Operations, Naval Headquarters is now reappointed Chief of Naval Safety and Standards.
15. Rear Admiral Mohammed Abdullahi, the immediate past Director, Communications at Naval Headquarters takes over as the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command.
16. Rear Admiral Saheed Akinwande formerly the Commandant Naval War College Nigeria has been appointed Director of Operations, Naval Headquarters.
17. Rear Admiral Istifanus Albara formerly the Head of ECOWAS Maritime Security Coordination Centre, Abidjan moves to Naval Headquarters as Navy Secretary.
18. Rear Admiral Clement Atebi has been reappointed to Naval Headquarters as the Director of Audit.
19. Rear Admiral Samson Bura formerly Director of Search and Rescue, at Defence Headquarters is now the Director of Logistics at the Defence Intelligence Agency.
20. Rear Admiral Umar Chugali formerly Director of Cyber at the Defence Space Administration takes over as the Flag Officer Commanding, Central Naval Command.

33. Rear Admiral Abolaji Orederu formerly Director of Ships Design and Acquisition at the Naval Headquarters has been appointed as the Admiral Superintendent Naval Dockyard Limited, Victoria Island, Lagos.
