The Kogi State Police Command has disbursed cheques totaling N11,245,379.35 to the families of three police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. The financial support was provided under the Group Life Assurance and IGP Family Welfare Schemes as part of efforts to assist bereaved families.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye Aya, emphasized that the initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and the Police Force Welfare Scheme to support the families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation.

“This initiative ensures that the families of our fallen heroes are not left behind, providing them with financial relief to help ease the burdens that come with such unfortunate losses,” Aya stated.

The presentation ceremony, attended by senior police officers and the bereaved families, was marked by expressions of gratitude from the recipients, who acknowledged the support as both a financial lifeline and a reassurance of continued care from the Force.

Reaffirming its dedication to officer welfare, the Kogi State Police Command pledged to sustain its support through these welfare initiatives, ensuring that the sacrifices of police officers are duly recognized and their families receive the assistance needed to maintain stability.
