President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced plans to visit Benue State on Wednesday to commiserate with the people following the recent deadly attacks in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area.
The visit comes in the wake of widespread criticism over the President’s delayed response to the massacre, which reportedly claimed the lives of about 250 residents, allegedly at the hands of suspected herdsmen.
Nigerians across various platforms have expressed outrage over the federal government’s silence and inaction, with many questioning why the President had not personally visited the scene of the tragedy sooner.
In response, President Tinubu has now cleared his schedule to make a condolence trip to the affected community, signaling what some observers see as a step toward addressing the long-standing insecurity in the region.
