Professor Emeritus Umaru Shehu CON, CFR, a famous Nigerian scholar in the field of Medicine, died at the age of 92, shocking the academic community. According to Nelsdaily, the esteemed professor died in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Prof. Emeritus Umaru Shehu held various important posts throughout his lengthy career, leaving an everlasting influence on the Nigerian educational environment.
He was the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of ABU Zaria, and the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of both BUK and UNILAG.
He was also the only administrator of UNIMAID, among many other notable contributions to the academic world.
