JUST IN: Lawan in closed-door meeting with National Assembly workers

The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, is currently in a closed-door meeting with executives of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria.

The meeting started at about 4:30pm on Friday when the Senate President got to the National Assembly complex.

Reports have it that although the executives had invited the media to the meeting, the members refused to allow the press access to the complex.

The PASAN had commenced an indefinite strike action on Monday following the failure of the management of the National Assembly to keep to the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding it entered with the workers on full payment of arrears of salary and allowances.
