Gunmen have kidnapped a director working with the Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue Service in Port Harcourt.
The gunmen said to be six and rode on a speedboat seized their victim at the Marine Base Area of the capital city and whisked him away to an unknown place
They were said to have shot many times in the air before zooming off with Sir Aribibia John Fubara, a Knight of Saint Christopher, in the Anglican Communion.
The younger younger brother of the victim,.Emmanuel Fubara, who confirmed incident, said the matter had been officially reported to the police.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the development.
She said: “The command is aware of the incident and the CP has directed tactical units in the command to ensure that the victim is released unhurt. A manhunt has been launched to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book”.
