The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), under the leadership of the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, has sealed the National Headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over issues related to unpaid ground rent.
At exactly 2:06 p.m. on Monday, officials from the FCTA arrived at Wadata Plaza — the PDP’s national secretariat located in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja — and locked the main entrance gate, effectively shutting down access to the premises.
This development comes in the wake of the FCTA’s recent move to reclaim properties affected by the revocation of 4,794 land titles. The administration cited non-payment of ground rent spanning 10 to 43 years as the reason for the revocations.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the FCTA had warned that defaulters would face strict enforcement actions, including property repossession.
