Jigawa State Governor Approves Cabinet Reshuffle

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has approved a minor reshuffling of his cabinet, effective May 5, 2025. The decision follows a meeting of the State Executive Council, chaired by the Governor.

Sagir Musa Ahmed, the State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, revealed the outcome of the deliberations to newsmen. According to Ahmed, the Secretary to the State Government announced the reshuffle, which sees changes in key ministries.

Muhammed Alhassan, the outgoing Commissioner for Land, Housing, Urban Development and Regional Planning, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Water Resources. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Garba Hannun Giwa, formerly the Commissioner for Water Resources, will now take over the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development. Ahmed Garba, the current Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, will move to the Ministry of Land, Housing, Urban Development, and Regional Planning.

The reshuffling takes immediate effect, with the affected officials expected to assume their new roles no later than May 19, 2025.
