The Jigawa State Government has allocated more than N132 million for the establishment of a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle conversion training center in Dutse, as part of its commitment to cleaner energy adoption.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy, Engineer Musa Al’assan Arobade, made this known during the opening ceremony of a Train-the-Trainers workshop on CNG vehicle conversion, held at the ministry’s conference hall.
He revealed that the government is set to award contracts for the conversion of 25 vehicles from petrol to CNG, reinforcing its efforts to promote sustainable and eco-friendly transportation.
In addition, 20 individuals will be sponsored for specialized training in vehicle conversion techniques. Beneficiaries will be selected from the Ministry of Power and Energy and the Jigawa State chapter of the Association of Automobile Technicians.
Engineer Arobade emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing energy security, reducing dependence on fossil fuels, and fostering economic growth through renewable energy initiatives.
This investment aligns with the state’s broader agenda to promote clean energy solutions, reduce carbon emissions, and equip local technicians with the skills needed for CNG vehicle conversions.
